JOISTRIP provides the ultimate protection against water penetrating the top of external floor joists, causing ROT!
When it comes to weather protection for decks and verandahs it is assumed that a roof is sufficient, this is not the case. The outer edges are still very exposed and the so called inner protected area is also open to the elements and at real risk of saturation caused by storms.

User Friendly

Unlike messy paints or sticky coatings, JOISTRIP is clean and easy to work with. The legs hold JOISTRIP in place and centre of the joist. It can be walked on immediately after installation and its tough 2mm thick layer won’t tear or suffer damage during normal deck laying conditions.
In reduced light caused by overcast conditions or late afternoon the joist can be difficult to see through the small gap in the decking boards when nailing. Covering the joist with a protective layer can add to this problem. JOISTRIP has a “centre line” to eliminate the guess work and to ensure accurate nailing every time.
For minimum waste and convenience JOISTRIP is available in; 50m, 25m & 10m rolls.

Safety

When loose decking boards are laid across the joists they can easily slide under foot when walked on becoming quite unsafe. Some inferior flashings, e.g. slippery plastic products can actually increase the likelihood of this occurring.
One of many JOISTRIP features is its rubber surface possesses good non-slip properties preventing the decking boards from sliding. The more weight applied the better it grips! providing for a safer working environment.

Appearance

The wings of JOISTRIP shed the water away from the joist keeping it dry and clean, unlike the joists pictured in SNAP SHOTS (d.)
